Our work

Today Jesuits can be found in many different ministries all over the world, and South Africa is no different. In South Africa, Jesuits are:

 

 

  • Retreat directors - especially of The Spiritual Exercises
  • Spiritual Directors

  • Teachers in schools, seminaries, colleges and universities
  • School and university chaplains

  • Marriage preparation/counselling

The Jesuit Institute of South Africa is a major new initiative of the Jesuits in
South Africa. The institute provides reflection, training and critical analysis
on contemporary religious issues from a Catholic perspective. It is motivated
by the service of faith and the promotion of Justice.
